CLINICAL TRAINING

Pre and Post-Doctoral Training:

My pre and post-doctoral training provided me a breadth of experience in a variety of settings including an inpatient hospital setting, community mental health clinics, and an outpatient HMO department.  These experiences exposed me to a wide variety of clientele including severely mentally ill adults, drug and alcohol addicted clients, children and families and general outpatient adults.

PROFESSIONAL WORK EXPERIENCE

Since attaining my professional psychologist license in 1995, I have been a staff psychologist at the Departments of Psychiatry at Kaiser Permanente in Milpitas and in Oakland.  Formerly, I maintained a private practice in Oakland, and presently, in Berkeley.  I have extensive experience doing individual, couples and group therapy.  Groups and classes taught include:

  • Women's Body Image

 

INTERNATIONAL WORK

After the 2008 Sichuan earthquake, I joined EMDR HAP (Humanitarian Asssistance Program) as a volunteer facilitator. HAP provides EMDR via direct services and training assistance for natural and manmade disasters all over the world.  In August 2009, I went to China to provide EMDR training to Chinese mental health professionals in post-quake Sichuan.  For more information about EMDR HAP, please see their webpage: www.EMDRHAP.org
